Every few months I like to commit to a detox and cleanse my body, mind, and space. Detoxing is so important because it helps bring you back to center, rids your body of nasty toxins, gives you more energy, and just overall puts you in a better place! I usually start my detox with cleaning up how and what I am eating for several days followed by detox baths and doing a deep clean of my home.

I've tried several food detoxes and I'll be honest, a few of them have been really hard! This time around, I looked at several different plans and then sorta just made my own out of them. There was no just drinking juice for three days straight or only getting to eat one thing. This made it so much easier!

Check out the meal plan for this 48 hour detox below!

Day One

Breakfast: 1 cup oats (gluten free is best!)

1 kiwi

1 cup mixed berries

Lunch: 1 cup broccoli & brussels sprouts steamed with garlic

1/2 cup quinoa with lemon juice

Snack: Celery

1 serving of nuts (I prefer walnuts and cashews)

Dinner: 1/2 cup brown rice with lime juice & cilantro

1 bell pepper & 1/2 onion steamed with cumin

1 can black beans warmed and purred with lime juice and garlic

Top with diced avocado and tomatoes

**Drink at least 8 cups of water with lemon & cucumber slices throughout the day

Day Two

Breakfast: Green Smoothie: handful of spinach, handful of kale, 1/4 cup strawberries, 1/4 cup cherries, 1/4 cup blackberries, 1/4 cup blueberries, 1/4 cup oats, 1 cup almond milk, 1 TBS flax seed, 1/2 TBS chia seeds.

Lunch: Kale, broccoli, & brussels sprouts salad from Kim's Cravings - get the recipe here

Snack: Carrots

1 serving of nuts

Dinner: Detox cauliflower salad from Pinch of Yum - get the recipe here

** Drink at least 8 cups of water with lemon and cucumber slices throughout the day

And that's it! It's so easy and delicious!

When detoxing, I find it important to not only do a food cleanse, but to cleanse your mind and space. Take a detox bath with Epsom salts, lavender & eucalyptus essential oil at least once when doing a detox. Clean out your closet and get rid of things you don't wear anymore. Deep clean your house. Go for a walk. Bring some indoor plants into your home. Whatever you choose to do, just take the time to cleanse out all areas of your life. You'll be glad you do:)
