The Only Motherly Advice You'll Ever Need

Becoming a mom for the first time is one of the most joyous, amazing, gratifying, and terrifying things you may experience in this life. Advice and mom tips will be thrown at you from every direction. Do this, don't do that, buy this, etc. No matter what you choose to do eye rolls and judgement will ensue and there is simply no escaping it. So when it comes to motherhood and your mothering journey I have one very simple piece of advice. In fact, it's the only motherly advice you will ever need.

Just do you.

It's that simple. Mother the way YOU want to. Follow your own mothering instinct (they do show up I promise!) and do what you believe to be best for your little one. No one else could ever know what is the right thing for your baby. No one else could ever love that tiny human in the same capacity you do. So why let anyone else decide how to nurture and raise them?

If you want to use oils, use oils. If you want to take your baby to a chiropractor, take them. If you want to exclusively breastfeed, express that milk momma. If you want or have to use formula, mix that bottle with pride. If you don't want your babe to cry it out, hold them tight. If you don't want people touching and kissing all over your baby's face, politely ask them not to. If you want to work full time, find a job that you love and a daycare you trust.

If you want to be a stay at home mom, enjoy those yoga pants, extra snuggles, and be proud of the fierce work you're doing at home. If you want to use cloth diapers, store bought diapers, or no diapers at all, go for it! Baby's are gonna poop no matter what they are wearing. If you want to vaccinate your child, do it. If not, then do your research, stand up for yourself, and don't.

You have been entrusted with one of the most beautiful gifts this world has to offer: LIFE.

Life in the form of tiny fingers, soft skin and rolls for days. So take care of that life the best way you know how. Because at the end of the day, you're the only one who truly knows how to best love the baby in your arms.
