Praying for Poop

This week, I spent a lot of time praying about poop. Yes, you read that right. Poop. Before you get disturbed or think I'm sharing far too much with the general population, let me explain.
My son Paxton, is a very good tempered baby and is not fussy very often. The only times he truly cries and throws a fit are when he's hungry and I'm not moving fast enough or his diaper is wet. But this week, Pax was having a hard time going to the bathroom. As in, he wasn't going. And I don't mean he hadn't gone for a few hours. Poor thing had not pooped in DAYS. Three whole days to be exact.
So of course, he was hurting and he got really fussy. Then I just felt terrible because there was nothing I could do. I tried massaging his tummy, stretching his legs in and out, giving him a bath, patting his back; nothing worked. So, finally I just started praying. I started asking God to help my son find some relief and simply help him to poop.
I know it sounds silly. Asking the Almighty God over all the Earth to give my child the gift of poop. Especially when there's much bigger things I could be praying for right now. Like all the hate and fear filled riots. Or the thousands of orphans all across the world. Or the terminally ill, or the troops, or literally anything other than poop.
But here's the cool thing I've realized. My request to God about poop is just as important to Him as my requests for all those other really important things. Because if something matters to me, it matters to him.

Did God hear me and answer this prayer? Absolutely. Ironically (or not so ironically), in the middle of church this morning, Pax had TWO giant, loud, explosive poops (and yes I realize this will probably embarrass him like crazy some day, but isn't that what moms are for?)
So pray about the little things. Pray about the silly things. Pray about mundane things. Maybe, even pray about poop.
